Overview

Giza is an ancient city located in Egypt along the banks of the Nile River. It’s home to some of the most iconic monuments in the world, including the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. The Pyramids of Giza were built around 2550 BC and are considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. They were built as tombs for the Pharaohs and contained vast amounts of knowledge about Ancient Egyptian culture. The Sphinx was built around 2500 BC and has become an iconic symbol of ancient Egypt. It’s a massive limestone statue that stands guard at the entrance of the pyramids. The city of Giza is full of history and culture and is well worth a visit to explore its ancient wonders.

Giza pyramids

Saqqara

Located south of Cairo, Saqqara was once a burial ground for the ancient Egyptian capital of Memphis.
Saqqara is home to numerous pyramids, including the famous Step Pyramid of Djoser, which is considered to be the oldest pyramid in Egypt.
The site also contains numerous tombs and temples, including the Serapeum, where the sacred Apis bulls were buried.

Memphis

The city was also famous for its colossal statue of Ramses II, which was one of the largest statues ever built in ancient Egypt.
